The two young antique dealers Max Michl and Phillip Wietz see things a little differently. “Our antiques are true masterpieces of craftsmanship and very special forms of art, which was, is and always will be one of the most important and freest forms of human expression, even if the form and nature of that expression are constantly changing. Every culture and era has created magnificent works of art – each in its very own, unique and unmistakable way.

Mercurius - Fine Arts and Antiques

Together, the two founded the art and antiques business Mercurius, with a showroom in the former monastery of the Archdiocese of Olomouc in Vienna's 8th district. Here they present and broker interiors from Art Déco to Modernism, from design furniture to classic lamps and lights. The focus is on exclusive one-of-a-kind pieces of international craftsmanship, design objects from the last century and high-quality antiques from other eras and styles.

The antiques trade is an exciting field for visual design. For one thing, presenting high-quality pieces of furniture is demanding and therefore interesting. What's more, almost every object for sale is one of a kind and must therefore be visualised individually for auctions, invitations or catalogues.
